Achieving Peace in Anxious Times

This presentation was given on Sunday, October 26, 2012 during the Annual Congregational Meeting of The Plymouth Church in Framingham. The information and conversations were designed for use in the church, but also in members' families and places of work. It’s about how we are Christians to and with one another, how we “let our little lights shine” out in the world.

The first goal is to look at how we communicate—both the unthinking, non-verbal ways we send messages, as well as intentional, scripted ways to be in conversation. What static gets in our way? How can intentional practices transform anxious moments? The second goal is to build community. It's easier to talk about community, than it is to be community. Can participants leave having met a new friend, renewed a friendship, or possibly even healed a frayed relationship?
